Non-Contact Detection of All Materials: The KI5031 is a high-performance capacitive proximity sensor capable of non-contact detection of all materials, including metals, plastics, glass, wood, liquids, powders, and granules. Operating on the principle of capacitive sensing, it detects changes in capacitance caused by objects entering its sensing field, making it an ideal choice for detecting non-metallic objects.
Designed for Industrial Applications: Clearly marked "For Industrial Use", its design, materials, and testing standards meet stringent industrial requirements, offering excellent resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI), vibration, and shock, ensuring long-term stable performance in complex environments like factory floors and machinery.
NAMUR Output for Intrinsic Safety: Features a NAMUR output interface, an international standard (EN 60947-5-6) specifically designed for intrinsic safety applications. It signals the switching state through small current changes (typically 0.7mA/1.2mA) and must be used with a safety barrier (Zener barrier or galvanic isolator). This ensures safe operation in hazardous areas with flammable or explosive atmospheres, such as in chemical, oil & gas, and petrochemical industries.
Normally Open (NO) Output Function: Provides a Normally Open (NO) output function. When no target is detected, the output circuit is open (current ~0.7mA); when a target enters the sensing range, the circuit closes (current ~1.2mA). This configuration is suitable for standard applications where an action needs to be triggered upon object detection.
